John Palmer (d.1742) immigrated, probably as a redemptioner, during or before 1686 from England to Concord, Chester (now Delaware) County, Pennsylvania, and married Mary Southerly. Both were probably Quakers who later became Baptists. The Palmer line of progeny is carried through their son, John Palmer Jr. (ca.1690-1771), who married Martha Yearsley in 1714. Their daughter, Ann Palmer, married William Trimble (1705-1795) in 1732; William was an Irish immigrant. Another daughter of John Palmer (d.1742) was Mary Palmer. She married James Trimble (1707-1792), a brother of William who also immigrated from Ireland.
