The conflict began with the resistance fighters during World War II and the failure of the postwar governments to recognise their contribution. The growing resentment of the communists towards the government and outside influences eventually led to the "December Uprising" (1945-46), which in turn led to the civil war. The program contains previously unseen archival footage, including excerpts froom the secret Moscow Accords, and interviews with commanders and soldiers in the government forces
