Modern topics in electron scattering( Book )

6 editions published in 1991 in English and held by 115 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book summarizes the considerable progress recently achieved in the understanding of nucleon and nuclear structure by using high energy electrons as a probe. A collection of papers discusses in detail the new frontiers of this field. Experimental and theoretical articles cover topics such as the structure of the nucleon, nucleon distributions, many-body correlations, non-nucleonic degrees of freedom and few-body systems. This book is an up-to-date introduction to the research planned with continuous beam electron accelerators

A nai(t1) total absorption detector for electrons and gamma-rays at gev energies( Book )

1 edition published in 1968 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The paper reports a new and successful demonstration of the use of total absorption shower detectors for electrons and gamma-rays in the GeV energy range. Such detectors have the following attractive properties: (a) 100 per cent detection efficiency, (b) good energy resolution and (c) large dynamic range. Moreover, there is virtually no upper limit to the energy detectable by this means because the size of the detector varies only logarithmically with the energy of the incident electron or gamma-ray. Nuclear Fermi Momenta from Quasi-Elastic Electron Scattering( Book )

1 edition published in 1971 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The cross sections for quasi-elastic electron scattering from nine target nuclei from lithium to lead have been measured for electron incident energy of 500 MeV and scattering angle of 60 degrees. The data are interpreted in terms of a Fermi gas model, yielding the nuclear Fermi momentum as a function of atomic number. The Fermi momentum increases from lithium to calcium and remains roughly constant at about 260 MeV/c from nickel to lead. (Author)
High Energy Elastic Electron Scattering from 24Mg, 28Si, and (nat)S( Book )

1 edition published in 1971 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

High momentum transfer elastic electron scattering data (0.76 <or = q <or = 3.74/fm) from 24Mg, 28SI, and natS are presented and analyzed using phenomenological charge distributions; the oscillation in rho(r) due to the shell model structure is obtained. An analysis in terms of a Woods-Saxon nuclear potential is described and the 2s/1d occupation numbers are deduced. (Author)
Final state interactions in ³He(e,e'p) by Cédric Carasco( Book )

Physics of climate by José Pinto Peixoto( Book )

1 edition published in 1984 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Elastic electron scattering from 12c and 16o( Book )

1 edition published in 1969 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Electron scattering cross sections for Carbon and Oxygen between q = 1 F to the minus 1 power and 4 F to the minus 1 power are given. The data are analyzed in terms of a phenomenological charge distribution and new information concerning the tail and the center of the charge distribution are obtained. The presence of dispersion effects appears to be necessary to explain the cross sections in the first diffraction minimum. The effect of a finite potential and short range correlations on the form factor are discussed. (Author)
M5 and higher magnetic moments in elastic electron scattering( Book )

1 edition published in 1970 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Consideration is given to the feasibility of determining the higher nuclear ground state magnetic moments through elastic electron scattering. Theoretical and experimental results are presented for the M5 moment of 27Al and the M9 moment of 209Bi. (Author)
Messung des differentiellen Wirkungsquerschnitts der Reaktion O (n,)̈ C im Energiebereich von 14,9 MeV bis 18,8 Mev by I Sick( Book )

Inelastic Electron Scattering from Several Ca, Ti and Fe-Isotopes( Book )

1 edition published in 1970 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The differential cross sections for inelastic electron scattering from 40Ca, 42Ca, 44Ca, 46Ti, 48Ti, 50Ti, and 56Fe have been measured. The cross sections for the strangely excited positive 2, negative 3, positive 4, and negative 5 levels have been measured over a range of momentum transfer q of 0.4 - 2.6 (fm sup ( -1)). The data have been fitted using two representations for the transition charge, (1) the hydrodynamic liquid drop, and (2) a phenomenological model. (Author)
High Energy Electron Scattering from 6Li( Book )

1 edition published in 1970 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Elastic electron scattering cross sections have been measured for 6Li at 500 MeV and values of q sup 2, the momentum transfer squared, up to 13 f(m sup ( -2)). Calculations including nucleon-nucleon correlations predict a diffraction minimum beyond the range of previous measurements for 6Li. The results for 6Li do show a diffraction minimum at q sup 2 = 8 f(m sup ( -2)); they are also compared with a phase shift calculation using an empirical charge distribution. (Author)
