Solches ist selten, am ehesten in lyrischen Gattungen anzutreffen - in Prosa nur auf dem obersten Niveau. Dieser Band ist ein Meisterstück solcher verdichteten, geistessprühenden Essayistik, durchwegs gespickt mit (nicht nur) literarischen Anspielungen - unter anderem auf Daniel Kehlmann und Karl May -, dies aber dezent, sodass der 'Eigengeschmack' Drostes nicht übertäubt wird.
