3 editions published in 2018 in French and held by 60 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The publication of Philippe Jaccottet's work in Pleiades allows us to measure the dimension of otherness in a poetry whose distinctive features are to be fundamentally dialogical. If there is no poetic experience without a tension between a principle of solitude and a principle of otherness, the work of Jaccottet is one of those who assume this tension while orienting as much as possible the speech towards the requirement of the otherness of which Mandelstam gave the formula: "No lyricism without dialogue". For Jaccottet, as for many poets of his generation, poetry is out of self, by openness to others - or not. To write poetically is to answer the other and the other; it is the responsibility of the poet, who also engages the responsibility of the reader.--Presses universitaires de Strasbourg

LE "SIMPLE" ET LE "SENS" DANS L'OEUVRE POETIQUE D'YVES BONNEFOY by Michèle Finck( Book )

4 editions published between 1988 and 1989 in French and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS TO SCRUTINIZE TWO NOTIONS WHICH STRUCTURE YVES BONNEFOY'S OEUVRE AND ACCOUNT FOR WHAT IS AT STAKE IN POETIC MODERNITY: THE "SIMPLE" AND "SENSE". CAN POETRY, WHICH SEEKS TO APPROXIMATE THE "SIMPLE", THE "UNMEDIATED", CONVEY ANYTHING BUT MEDIATION? ARE OBLITERATION OF "SENSE" AND THE PASSAGE THROUGH NEGATIVITY THE ONLY CHANCES FOR "SENSE" TO EMERGE? PROBLEMATICS IS SUBSUMED UNDER THE CATEGORIES OF BODY AND PLACE. BONNEFOY'S OEUVRE IS A TRYING OUT OF THE BODY (BY DEATH, TIME, AND OTHERNESS) AND A SUMMONING OF THE PLACE (IN A COMPLEX TOPOLOGY, RANGING FROM "EXILE" TO "THE TRUE PLACE"). THE QUESTION OF BODY AND PLACE CAN BE READ AS A METAPHOR OF THE QUESTION OF WRITING. ASSUMING THE COINCIDENCE OF BODY, PLACE, AND WRITING, WE ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE SOME OF THE PROBLEMS OF CONTEMPORARY POETICS: "UNWRITING", REPETITION, THE RELATIONSHIP WITH VOICE AND PAINTING, TRANSLATION, IMAGE, SOUND... BY "LISTENING" TO BONNEFOY'S VERBAL MUSIC, WE HAVE TRIED TO WORK OUT A MORE JUDIVIOUS FORMULATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE "SIMPLE", "SENSE", AND SOUND IN POETRY
