The eternal road an encounter with the past( Visual )

1 edition published in 2000 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Documents the 1999 restaging in Chemnitz, Germany of the musical drama, The Eternal Road, which was first staged in New York City in 1937. Inspired by Meyer Weisgal, it was written by Franz Werfel, composed by Kurt Weill and produced by Max Reinhardt. Juxtaposed against the story of the opera is the history of the Jews of Germany in the 20th century and, in particular, of the Jews of Chemnitz, as their once relatively comfortable and secure existence in the Germany of the Kaiser and the Weimar Republic deteriorated as the Nazis came to power, culminating in exile for some and death in concentration camps for others. In an effort of reconciliation, the mayor of present day Chemnitz arranged to restage the Eternal Road/Der Weg der Verheissung and invited Jews who fled the city to return and attend the restaged opera. The film includes rehearsal footage, interviews with the creative team responsible for staging the work, excerpts from both the 1937 production and the 1999 restaging of The Eternal Road/Der Weg der Verheissung and archival footage and photographs

Cathodic Protection System Design 3. Sacrificial Anode System Design Principles for Underground Structures( )

1 edition published in 1995 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The most common application of cathodic protection is controlling corrosion on buried structures, such as pipelines and storage tanks. For underground structures, both impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems are feasible and the most appropriate system is chosen based on life cycle cost for the system
Cathodic Protection System Inspection 6( )

1 edition published in 1994 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

If the cathodic protection system is periodically inspected and maintained to provide continuous protection the condition of the protected structure can be inferred from the cathodic protection system records without the need for physical inspection of the protected structure. (jg)
Cathodic Protection System Design 2. Electrolyte Resistivity Measurement( )

1 edition published in 1995 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Electrolyte resistivity is an important parameter in the design of cathodic protection systems. As cathodic protection systems are essentially direct current electrical circuits, the currents that flow in the circuits depend on the electrical resistance between the circuit elements. Electrolyte resistivity differs from resistance in that resistivity is a characteristic of a material whereas the actual resistance depends on both resistivity of the material and the geometry of the current flow. resistivity
Cathodic Protection System Inspection 5( )

1 edition published in 1994 in English and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The rectifier is the heart of an impressed current cathodic protection system. As it is subject to many adverse conditions including power surges, lightning strikes, vandalism, physical damage, and deterioration from atmospheric exposure, frequent inspections of rectifiers are vital to keeping an impressed current system operating so that it can provide nearly continuous protection of the underground, or submerged structures that are being protected.
