L'oeuvre gravé et lithographié de Pablo Picasso se répartit en plusieurs périodes caractérisées par la prédominance d'une technique déterminée. Fasciné par l'eau-forte et la pointe-sèche, le jeune artiste s'attarde longuement devant les plaques de cuivre qu'il voit graver dans les ateliers parisiens des maîtres du genre, Eugène Delâtre, Louis Fort et surtout Roger Lacourière, qui l'initiera à plus d'une technique nouvelle. Entre 1919 et 1930 on le voit s'essayer à la lithoghraphie. Puis en 1945, c'est la soudaine flambée de la création lithographique, chez Fernand Mourlot. En 1963, Piero et Aldo Crommelynck amènent de Paris à Mougins une presse à bras. Depuis, burin, eau-forte, pointe-sèche et aquatinte traduisent en noir et blanc et en couleurs l'inspiration toujours renouvelée, la profusion des spontanéités imageantes du Picasso d'aujourd'hui
