Scrapbook includes letters of introduction, invitation, and thanks, and letters regarding the post office and postal service, the life of Hall's law partner Solomon G. Haven, and various congressional bills. Correspondents include senators, representatives, and other government officials. There are also many invitations, tickets, programs, menus, and newspaper clippings relating to Wells College, the First Unitarian Church of Buffalo, Buffalo Female Academy, the Union Continentals, and other institutions and organizations. Also, many Buffalo newspaper carriers' New Year addressses; a broadside by Gerrit Smith, 19 Sept. 1853, regarding the Fugitive Slave Law, addressed to the people of the County of Ontario; and a printed order of procession for the funeral of John Quincy Adams, 24 Feb. 1848..

Includes Strong's account of his expenses while on the business of the Seneca Nation, 1849-1851; two letters written by Strong to G. H. Salisbury and William Ketchum in 1863, on the origin of Buffalo's name; Strong's lecture on Red Jacket, 29 Dec. 1863; and a letter written by Strong, 31 Oct. 1871, to N. K. Hall, president of the Buffalo Historical Society, about Blacksnake, a war chief of the Wolf Clan of the Seneca tribe of Indians. The letter was written just before W. H. Greene and N. K. Hall donated a portrait of Blacksnake by Lars G. Sellstedt to the Buffalo Historical Society. Attached to the Strong letter is Sellstedt's receipt, 27 Apr. 1871, for sale of the painting.

Letters to Harm Jan Huidekoper, Holland Land Company agent, Meadville, Pa., 1825-1848, regarding land sales, payments by settlers, and other Holland Land Company matters, including the attacks on the Batavia office by a mob, 1838. Most letters also feature news of contemporary events, such as the Erie Canal opening celebration in Lockport, Oct. 1825; the schooner Michigan scheduled to be sent over Niagara Falls, Aug. 1827; the outbreak of cholera in 1832, the arrest of Benjamin Rathbun for forgery and the effects of the scandal on Blossom and others, 1830-1838; the Upper Canada Rebellion, 1837; and the hiring of an organist at the Unitarian Church, 1838. Also, three letters written after the deaths of Blossom and H.J. Huidekoper by N.K. Hall, guardian of Blossom's daughter Anna, to Edgar Huidekoper, Meadville, seeking advice on a suitable school for Anna.
