Correct system design : recent insights and advances by E.-R Olderog( Book )

16 editions published in 1999 in English and held by 263 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Computers are gaining more and more control over systems that we use or rely on in our daily lives, privately as well as professionally. In safety-critical and other applications, it is of paramount importance that systems controlled by a computer or computing systems themselves reliably behave in accordance with the specification and requirements. In other words: correctness of the system, of its software and hardware is crucial."--BOOK JACKET. "On the occasion of Hans Langmaack's retirement from his professorship and in order to honor his fundamental contribution to the field, the volume editors invited 17 internationally well known researchers to evaluate the state of the art in the area of correct system design."--BOOK JACKET

Leveraging applications of formal methods, verification, and validation : 4th International Symposium on Leveraging Applications, ISoLA 2010, Heraklion, Crete, Greece, October 18-21, 2010 ; proceedings, part I by Tiziana Margaria-Steffen( )

100 editions published between 2008 and 2016 in English and Undetermined and held by 162 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume contains the conference proceedings of the 4th International S- posium on Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods, Veri?cation and Vali- tion, ISoLA 2010, which was held in Greece (Heraklion, Crete) October 18-21, 2010, and sponsored by EASST. Following the tradition of its forerunners in 2004, 2006, and 2008 in Cyprus and Chalchidiki, and the ISoLA Workshops in Greenbelt (USA) in 2005, in Poitiers (France) in 2007, and in Potsdam (Germany) in 2009, ISoLA 2010 p- vided a forum for developers, users, and researchers to discuss issues related to the adoption and use of rigorous tools and methods for the speci?cation, ana- sis, veri?cation, certi?cation, construction, testing, and maintenance of systems from the point of view of their di?erent application domains. Thus, the ISoLA series of events serves the purpose of bridging the gap between designers and developers of rigorous tools, and users in engineering and in other disciplines, and to foster and exploit synergetic relationships among scientists, engineers, software developers, decision makers, and other critical thinkers in companies and organizations. In particular, by providing a venue for the discussion of c- mon problems, requirements, algorithms, methodologies, and practices, ISoLA aims at supporting researchers in their quest to improve the utility, reliability, ?exibility, and e?ciency of tools for building systems, and users in their search for adequate solutions to their problems

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Proceedings of the 3rd - ternational Symposium on Visual Computing (ISVC 2007) held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada/California. ISVC o?ers a common umbrella for the four main areas of visualcomputing including vision, graphics, visualization, andvirtualreality. Its goal is to provide a forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present their latest research?ndings, ideas, devel- ments, and applications in the broader area of visual computing. Thisyear, theprogramconsistedof14oralsessions,1postersession,6special tracks, and 6 keynote presentations. Following a very successful ISVC 2006, the response to the call for papers was almost equally strong; we received over 270 submissions for the main symposium from which we accepted 77 papers for oral presentation and 42 papers for poster presentation. Special track papers were solicited separately through the Organizing and Program Committees of each track. A total of 32 papers were accepted for oral presentation and 5 papers for poster presentation in the special tracks
