This document is a letter from Brigadier General David Dickson in Jackson County (Georgia) to Governor of Georgia John Milledge (1802-1806), dated April 6, 1803. Dickson informs Milledge that a number of families have recently settled on Indian land across from a regiment commanded by Colonel Hampton. Dickson, in anticipation of negative responses from the Indians, ordered Hampton to warn the settlers to remove and to burn their camps and cabins
