Set predominantly to flamenco music, Mats Ek's early work is based on Lorca's play about a family of Spanish women shut away in mourning. Tension and rivalry fester in the repressed household until, finally, rebellion erupts, bringing tragedy with it. Ek's choreography gives vivid expression to the psychological aspects of the drama and there is a sharp twist of irony on Luc Buoy dancing the role of the tyrannical mother
