Following the July 1964 race riots, the Board for Urban Ministry of the Rochester Area Council of Churches invited Saul Alinsky's group (Industrial Areas Foundation) to Rochester to help them organize for civil rights. The community action group FIGHT (Freedom, Independence, God, Honor Today) was created, with an all-black membership (White sympathizers joined Friends of FIGHT). This documentary shows what happened when, during their second year, FIGHT confronted Eastman Kodak, the largest employer in the community, on the issue of corporate responsibility and the employment of minority groups (specifically, to hire 600 African Americans).

During the Gulf War radio D.J. Ross Carlin of Orangeville, Ontario tried to play the Canadian National Anthem, "Oh, Canada!" and found that there was no recent professional recording of it. So Carlin, in association with Peter Pearson, set out to record a contemporary Oh, Canada. This documentary traces the inspiration for and production of new versions of the Canadian national anthem, O Canada. Over 300 Canadian musicians and artists of star calibre gathered for this purpose in the fall of 1991. Includes segments on the history of the composition, its everchanging lyrics and numerous linguistic versions, as well as its meaning and import to various ethnic/regional/political constituencies.
