Letter addressed to John Fryer formerly master of HMS Bounty and presently master of a division of ships at Chatham, Douglas 10 July 1792 about Peter Heywood, acting midshipman on the Bounty then facing court martial for his part in the mutiny. This letter by J. Vose, a neighbour of Heywood's mother on the Isle of Man, includes an account from a transcript by Heywood concerning the mutiny and protesting his innocence of the charges laid against him. Heywood described how he woke to find the ship taken over by Fletcher Christian and Captain William Bligh taken prisoner
