"Soldiers with a mysterious sleeping sickness are transferred to a temporary clinic in a former school. The memory-filled space becomes a revelatory world for housewife and volunteer Jenjira, as she watches over Itt, a handsome soldier with no family visitors. Jen befriends young medium Keng who uses her psychic powers to help loved ones communicate with the comatose men. Doctors explore ways, including colored light therapy, to ease the mens’ troubled dreams. Jen discovers Itt’s cryptic notebook of strange writings and blueprint sketches. There may be a connection between the soldiers’ enigmatic syndrome and the mythic ancient site that lies beneath the clinic. Magic, healing, romance and dreams are all part of Jen’s tender path to a deeper awareness of herself and the world around her."--Strand Releasing website
Sat pralāt = Tropical malady by Apichatpong Weerasethakul( Visual )

35 editions published between 2001 and 2011 in 5 languages and held by 383 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Tropical malady" is two distinct halves, divided into two complementary and wholly necessary pieces. The first half is a love story. A young soldier, Keng (Banlop Lō̜mnō̜i), is assigned to patrol the Thai forests, and he falls for a country boy, Tong (Sakdā Kǣobūadī), a worker in a rural Thai village's ice plant. In the second half, that love story has been swallowed by a folk tale, in which the spirit of a man has found its way into the body of a tiger. A soldier patrols the forest, looking for a villager who has disappeared while a voice-over relates the story of a shaman who has the power to turn himself into a tiger. Is the soldier Keng? Is the missing villager--or, stranger yet, the tiger--Tong?

The camera follows the film crew and actors through the jungle, revealing behind-the-scenes activities such as the setting up and dismantling of scenes at different locations, as well as the actors going through various 'takes.' Tiré du site Internet de JRP/Ringier: "The photographic project of Swiss artist Leo Fabrizio (1976) consists of observing the spatial consequences of the rapid transformation of cities under the influence of globalization. The post-global city sees its function as awakening desires, preferring to sell dreams rather than solve problems. In the photographic sequence entitled "Dreamworld," Fabrizio depicts the clash between dream images and the reality on the ground. "Is everything that is built - architecture - nothing more than a material representation of our dreams? But if all these representations are no more than cardboard scenery, hollow but eye-catching, where does this leave our dreams?" - Leo Fabrizio.
