De Meisjes' is het geesteskind van romanschrijver Auke Hulst (bekend van o.a. de bestseller 'Kinderen van het Ruige Land') en schrijver/journalist Hans Hulst, die tegenwoordig hoofdredacteur is van het Engelstalige magazine 'Mizzima' in Yangon, Myanmar. Al sinds hun jonge jaren schrijven ze samen liedjes, die sinds 2012 onder de naam 'De Meisjes' worden uitgevoerd samen met gitarist Christof Bauwens, drummer Theun Supheert en bassist André van der Werf. Het album 'Dokter Toestel' is vanaf januari 2015 te verkrijgen in de betere boekhandel en platenzaak.
