Foundations of security analysis and design : tutorial lectures by Riccardo Focardi( Book )

63 editions published between 2001 and 2007 in English and held by 707 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Annotation The increasing relevance of security to real-life applications, such as electronic commerce and Internet banking, is attested by the fast-growing number of research groups, events, conferences, and summer schools that address the study of foundations for the analysis and the design of security aspects. This book presents thoroughly revised versions of eight tutorial lectures given by leading researchers during two International Schools on Foundations of Security Analysis and Design, FOSAD 2004/2005, held in Bertinoro, Italy, in September 2004 and September 2005. The lectures are devoted to: Justifying a Dolev-Yao Model under Active Attacks, Model-based Security Engineering with UML, Physical Security and Side-Channel Attacks, Static Analysis of Authentication, Formal Methods for Smartcard Security, Privacy-Preserving Database Systems, Intrusion Detection, Security and Trust Requirements Engineering

Formal methods for open object-based distributed systems : 6th IFIP WG 6.1 international conference, FMOODS 2003, Paris, France, November 19-21, 2003 : proceedings by Elie Najm( Book )

16 editions published in 2006 in English and held by 142 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th IFIP WG 6.1 International Conference on Formal Methods for Open Object-Based Distributed Systems, FMOODS 2003, held in Paris, France in November 2003. The 18 revised full papers presented together with an invited paper were carefully reviewed and selected from 78 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on models, logic and verification, calculi, Java and .NET, UML, and composition and verification

Foundations of security analysis and design VI : FOSAD tutorial lectures by Alessandro Aldini( )

9 editions published in 2011 in English and Undetermined and held by 76 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

FOSAD has been one of the foremost educational events established with the goal of disseminating knowledge in the critical area of security in computer systems and networks. Offering a timely spectrum of current research in foundations of security, FOSAD also proposes panels dedicated to topical open problems, and giving presentations about ongoing work in the field, in order to stimulate discussions and novel scientific collaborations. This book presents thoroughly revised versions of nine tutorial lectures given by leading researchers during three International Schools on Foundations of Security Analysis and Design, FOSAD, held in Bertinoro, Italy, in September 2010 and August/September 2011. The topics covered in this book include privacy and data protection; security APIs; cryptographic verification by typing; model-driven security; noninterfer-quantitative information flow analysis; and risk analysis
Formal methods for open object-based distributed systems : IFIP TC6/WG6.1 Third International Conference on Formal Methods for Open Object-Based Distributed Systems (FMOODS) : February 15-18, 1999, Florence, Italy by International Conference on Formal Methods for Open Object-Based Distributed Systems( Book )

5 editions published between 1999 and 2013 in English and held by 51 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Formal Methods for Open Object-Based Distributed Systems presents the leading edge in several related fields, specifically object-orientated programming, open distributed systems and formal methods for object-oriented systems. With increased support within industry regarding these areas, this book captures the most up-to-date information on the subject. Many topics are discussed, including the following important areas: object-oriented design and programming; formal specification of distributed systems; open distributed platforms; types, interfaces and behaviour; formalisation of object-oriented methods. This volume comprises the proceedings of the International Workshop on Formal Methods for Open Object-based Distributed Systems (FMOODS), sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) which was held in Florence, Italy, in February 1999. Formal Methods for Open Object-Based Distributed Systems is suitable as a secondary text for graduate-level courses in computer science and telecommunications, and as a reference for researchers and practitioners in industry, commerce and government

Introduction to concurrency theory : transition systems and CCS by Roberto Gorrieri( Book )

6 editions published in 2015 in English and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This book presents the fundamentals of concurrency theory with clarity and rigor. The authors start with the semantic structure, namely labelled transition systems, which provides us with the means and the tools to express processes, to compose them, and to prove properties they enjoy. The rest of the book relies on Milner's Calculus of Communicating Systems, tailored versions of which are used to study various notions of equality between systems, and to investigate in detail the expressive power of the models considered. The authors proceed from very basic results to increasingly complex issues, with many examples and exercises that help to reveal the many subtleties of the topic. The book is suitable for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in computer science and engineering, and scientists engaged with theories of concurrency.--Résumé de l'éditeur

An operational definition of action refinement by Pierpaolo Degano( Book )

2 editions published in 1992 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "A TCSP-like concurrent calculus is extended with an operator for action refinement which plays a role similar to that of procedure-call for sequential languages. The calculus is given a denotational semantics, that fully expresses causality, over the domain of Flow Event Structures; in this setting, action refinement is represented as an operation of pure substitution of an event structure for an event. The extensional meaning of process terms are the equivalence classes of event structures modulo history preserving bisimulation, explicity represented by Causal Trees. These are Synchronization Trees where each arc has a richer labelling containing, besides an action name, also the set of backward pointers to those arcs 'causing' the present action
