Wyman Guin burst upon the Science Fiction field with the classic Beyond Bedlam in the 1950s. His story of how society has made living with schizophrenia the norm rather than the exception. The story reads like a mash-up of 1984 with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The other stories in this collection are in a lighter vein and shows that Guin was one of the best humorist writing SF in the decade of the 50s. Stories about witches, genetic engineered creatures, and mathematical magic. Also contains the stories: MY DARLING HECATE, THE ROOT AND THE RING, VOLPLA
