"MTV'S FREE YOUR MIND Campaign focuses on issues of diversity and discrimination. Specifically, we haved examined discrimination based on three factors: race and ethnic origin; religion and personal beliefs; and gender and sexual orientation. Throughout the year, a significant portion of our work in On Air Promos has been committed to supporting our FREE YOUR MIND Campaign. Our entry represents the best of these efforts. ... With FREE YOUR MIND, we have once again given voice to the concerns and frustrations of a generation, and challenged them to make a change."--1993 Peabody Awards entry form excerpt.
