Presents two classic silent motion pictures directed by Kenji Mizoguchi with new benshi narration (2 versions of the first work). Orizuru Osen, based on a story by Kyoka Izumi and released as a silent film in 1935, tells the story of Osen and Sokichi, who are servants to Kumazawa, an abusive antiques dealer who is trying to swindle Buddhist monks of their temple treasures. Eventually, Kumazawa is arrested and Osen offers to help finance Sockichi's dream of attending medical school. In order to save enough money to make his dream a reality, Osen turns to prostitution. The second work is a 4-minute promotional excerpt from Tojin Okichi, released as a silent film in 1930, featuring Yōko Umemura as Okichi
