L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi ( Recording )
12 editions published between 1996 and 2011 in 3 languages and held by 294 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Taped at La Monnaie in Brussels in May 1998, this production of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo has become an operatic classic in a few short years. Choreographer/director Trisha Brown, conductor René Jacobs, and designer Roland Aeschlimann have created an ideal fusion of words, action, sight, and sound, one that never lets the viewer down and manages to tell the story in an elegant, unusual, and ultimately intensely moving manner

David by Francesco Conti ( )

Rodelinda by George Frideric Handel ( Recording )
6 editions published in 2005 in Italian and held by 144 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The fourth Handel opera to enter the Met repertoire, Rodelinda stars Renée Fleming in the title role of the Queen of Lombardy and grieving widow of King Bertarido (countertenor Andreas Scholl), who furiously rejects marriage to Grimoaldo (tenor Kobie van Rensburg), the usurper of her late husband's throne. Plot complications come thick and fast, among them the revelation that Bertarido is alive, with the characters' emotions exquisitely expressed in Handel's alternately lyrical and virtuosic arias. The stellar cast also includes Stephanie Blythe and John Relyea. Conductor Patrick Summers leads this thrilling performance
