"An allegorical exploration of the artist's quest for inspiration. Cloaked within a Haitian folktale of the perennial trickster genre, the film attempts to use Voudon iconography to probe the film experience: both in the artist and the audience. Having no words and no interpretation of the numerous icons and totems that arise, it is an endeavor to investigate the ability of film to transmit meaning beyond a rational, intellectual level. Vertov said that making film is similar to laying brick. I would like to say that it is more like building with stone: each frame/stone unique in itself." Pierre Desir, Ithaca College faculty
