Jahrhunderts entgegen. -- Entscheidend war für einmal nicht ein Mega-Werbebudget, sondern viel kostenlose Mundzumundpropaganda mit extremer Langzeitwirkung. Ein halbes Jahr nach der Veröffentlichung war in den USA im August 2002 die erste Million geschafft - als die Kunde endlich auch bei uns zu greifen begann. <<Come away with me>> stand in der Folge bis September 2005 während total 132 Wochen in der Schweizer Hitparade. -- Dahinter steckte eine komplexe Kombination verschiedenster Faktoren. Ihre als natürlich, ehrlich und ungekünstelt empfundene Musik zwischen Jazz, Pop, Soul, Folk und Country wurde speziell von einem älteren Publikum quasi als Erlösung vom herrschenden Zeitgeist der digitalen, elektronischen Musikwelt ins Herz geschlossen - umso mehr, als die sanften, traditionellen Töne von einer attraktiven, blutjungen 23-jährigen Frau ohne Star-Allüren kam. Aber als Tochter der indischen Sitar-Legende Ravi Shankar dafür mit einer exotischen Herkunft. -- Norah Jones war damit auch die Vorreiterin einer neuen <<Jazz>>-Welle mit Namen wie Jamie Cullum oder Katie Melua.
