Waking life by Richard Linklater( Visual )

15 editions published between 2001 and 2007 in English and Multiple languages and held by 1,068 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

An unidentified protagonist experiences a metaphysical identity crisis: he awakens in a dream in which he levitates, rides the highway in a boat and has other peculiar adventures. The story is a record of his random encounters with teachers, students, street people, and television personalities engaged in conversations, debates, rants, monologues, and speculations, all eagerly delivering their philosophical spiels, tall tales, and pet theories. This dream of a film recognizes that the fabric of reality can stretch and tear under the weight of ideas, and that this is part of what gives value to both film and dreams. Technologically, it transforms photographed reality into sophisticated cartoons by superimposing brightly hued digital animation on live-action digital video. This technique provides a perfect visual metaphor to use in an open- ended fable about perception itself

1 edition published in 2007 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
