Il Casanova di Federico Fellini by Federico Fellini( Visual )

69 editions published between 1976 and 2015 in 7 languages and held by 234 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Portrays Casanova in his waning days, travelling from a bubonic-plagued Venice to a syphilitic London via a tubercular Germany, engaging in various amorous and political adventures with an air of bored detachment. Imbued with a romantic pessimism, the film debunks the myth of Casanova as a great lover and instead presents him as an ordinary man swept along by extraordinary circumstances"--Container

Sua giornata di gloria: "Most of this film consists of a dialogue between the members of an idealistic group of Marxist rebels who plan to wage war against the Establishment. Ironically, the determined rebels seem to have no clue why they are fighting against the unnamed European country. The viewer is left to assume they are fighting for a worthy cause, though the fact is, the rebels may only be rebelling because it is fashionable to be against the existing power structures"Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

6 editions published between 2006 and 2007 in French and held by 32 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

" ... a non-violent parable in which Zouzou incarnates both Mary and Mary Magdalene while Pierre Clémenti incarnates a discouraged Christ who throws down his arms in the face of world cruelty. In spite of its allegorical nature, the film contains a denunciation of the police repression of 1968, which was generally well understood by viewers at the time."--Philippe Garrel, container

Il Messia The Messiah( Visual )

5 editions published between 2000 and 2008 in Italian and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
