The fascinating success story of the renaissance of European civil aviation after WWII, borne out of the enthusiasm of French and German engineers, that culminated in the construction of the 'super jumbo' A380. EADS-AIRBUS is one of the world's largest companies. In 2005, it had even beaten rival Boeing. But then, a financial and political scandal saw several members of EADS' high command indicted for fraud. What happened? Investigation into a complex story of personal ambitions, managerial incompetence, political pressure and insider dealing. Winner of the Franco-German Prize of journalism 2010

On the outskirts of Dessau, Germany, Walter Gropius built his Higher Academy for the Arts in 1926: the Bauhaus. Filmed on location, this highly detailed study of Gropius' groundbreaking building explores every nuance of its design, as well as its history and the philosophy of its architect. A thorough tour of the Bauhaus is complemented with sketches, photographs, historic film footage, and vintage and modern aerial views. The separate housing units designed by Gropius and built for the famous teachers of the Bauhaus, including Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, are also shown
L'Oeil de Verre = Wie mit Einem Glausage( Visual )

2 editions published in 2009 in French and English and held by 27 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Bill Utermohlen (1933-2007), an American painter living in London, had the misfortune to come of age as a figurative artist in an era when conceptual and abstract art ruled the day. But in 1995, Utermohlen was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The diagnosis would change his life - and transform his art. Almost immediately, he began a series of paintings called "The Conversation Pieces." The brightly colored works, reminiscent of Matisse, are set at home, featuring his wife, friends and colleagues in conversation. Notably absent - or present, but distant from the other figures - is Utermohlen himself, already isolated by his art. That distance would become more pronounced in Utermohlen's last and greatest body of work: a series of increasingly dark and grim self-portraits
Baukunst( Visual )

Alain Robbe-Grillet by Frédéric Compain( Visual )

8 editions published between 1998 and 2014 in French and held by 22 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

9 editions published between 1999 and 2014 in French and held by 21 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The film is based on the notepad jottings of architect Yann Weymouth, the man who worked closest to Pei, the architect who designed the Grand Louvre. Featuring a haphazard collection of sketches, collages and personal notes, these notepads provide a real insight into the adventure that was this major architectural project commissioned by the then French President François Mitterrand. The film also features the opinions of craftspeople, curators, site foremen and politicians, who provide honest and frank accounts of the design and tumultuous completion of the Pyramid."--Container

Deutschland: eine Nation in der Kunst 1800-1939 by Jean-Baptiste Péretié( Visual )

2 editions published in 2013 in French and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
