"Twist of fate and the twists of mind of the characters (mostly couples) combine in just the right twinkled absurd way in the interweaving episodes of this comedy. Each of the characters gets a good shot at being sarcastic and each is a sorry loser at some point yet none is turned into the butt of the joke. The place is Prague and the time is August 6th, 1995, except for one episode, set 50 years earlier in unflyable rain in the city of Kokura, Japan"--Internet movie database WWW site, May 29, 2012

Czech movie based on the novel The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Directed by Petr Zelenka with the soundtrack by Oscar-winning Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, it tells a story of Czech actors who come to Polish steelworks to perform Dostojevski's The Brothers Karamazov at an alternative drama festival. As rehearsals get under way, we follow not only the emotional story examining issues of faith, immortality and the salvation of the human soul, but also the relationships within the acting troupe itself, which strangely reflect Dostojevskis "great" themes. The stage drama is transferred to the real world when a tragedy occurs during rehearsal involving one of the spectators

"Petr used to work in an airport control tower but now contents himself toiling in the baggage department; he's more concerned with winning back his ex, Jana, from her current lover, though he's often distracted from his efforts in that respect by the eccentricities of his parents, his boss, and his neighbors"--Amazon WWW site, May 18, 2012
