L'appréhension muette, presqu'une terreur sacrée, qu'il éprouve à filmer ces visages a fondé sa démarche, cette volonté de se débarrasser du superflu, du maquillage par exemple, de simplifier au maximum les décors qui en deviennent quasi ascétiques, pour permettre au spectateur de se concentrer sur l'essentiel. Une oeuvre singulière et habitée, onze films et un archivage en 24 portraits d'ouvrières du travail manuel féminin; des images qui ne sont en rien "dictées par les lois de l'argent"
