Alain Cavalier a fait des visages et des mains les mediums privilégiés d'un cinéma janséniste, mystique, dont la forme s'épure de plus en plus, film après film, pour mieux dépeindre la nature humaine. Une oeuvre singulière et habitée, onze films et un archivage en 24 portraits d'ouvrières du travail manuel féminin; des images qui ne sont en rien "dictées par les lois de l'argent"
