Antibodies : Antoine D'Agata by Antoine d' Agata( Book )

9 editions published between 2003 and 2014 in 3 languages and held by 99 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Containing striking images of people living on the fringes of society, Anticorps is a challenging and captivating collection from one of the most renowned photographers working today. Antoine D'Agata has traveled the world's darkest corners collecting images of prostitutes, addicts, war-torn communities, and the homeless. A nomad himself, D'Agata tackles subjects often left untouched, unnoticed, or ignored. Frequently compared to his mentors Nan Goldin and Larry Clark, D'Agata's work, for all it's grim and occasionally terrifying realism, bears the hallmarks of timeless photographs. This volume features images from a number of D'Agata's series, interspersed with short texts as well as essays and commentary. Published to coincide with an important exhibition at La Bal Gallery in Paris, where it quickly went out of print, Anticorps was awarded the 2013 Arles Book Prize, and is certain to become one of the most sought after photography books of the year

Chus Burés : portraits & jewellery by Chus Burés( Book )

2 editions published in 2016 in Spanish and English and held by 23 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Chus Burés creates miracles. Each piece of jewellery that emerges from his workshop boasts a complex genesis, stemming from an intersection between his genius-level thought processes and his maverick lifestyle. From exploring the versatility of buttons, to accentuating the geometric planes of the human body (Infinity Lines, 1990), and using minerals to emulate and exaggerate human features (seen in the striking 'Mae Nam' Collection of 2000), Burés' work is always perplexing, always stimulating, and always innovative. He refuses to be cowed by convention, and delights in challenging his clients and models. The bodily focus of his work makes every piece a startling, and often uncomfortable, insight into humanity. Burés may be a maestro of metal - the gauzy chainmail-esque veils in his Crochet collection, 2000, attest to that. Yet he has mastered the emotional dimensions of his jewellery as well as its physical properties. The relationship between his pieces and the people who collect and cherish them is essential to his artistic praxis. In Chus Burés, Portraits & Jewellery (2016), this is realised through a series of intense portraits by Antoine d'Agata, Alberto Garcia-Alix, and Andres Serrano. These pictures reveal a transgressive melding of jewel and subject: man becomes metal and metal becomes man. Watch ideas take on physical form, and immerse yourself in Bures' world of wearable art

Antoine d'Agata : actes : une présence politique by France) Bal (Art organization : Paris( Book )

3 editions published in 2014 in French and held by 10 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

3 editions published between 2008 and 2012 in French and held by 8 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

3 editions published in 2016 in 3 languages and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
