Although Jabach commissioned engravers to reproduce his collection of drawings around 1666, the actual publication was delayed until the 18th century. The selection of drawings included in this volume represents primarily the Italian school, predominantly Annibale Caracci. Also included are prints after drawings by Pietro Paolo Bonzi [signing Gobbe], Paul Bril, Domenico Campagnola [signing Campagnole], Lodovico Caracci, Correggio, Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi [signing Bolognese], Guercino, Pietro da Cortona, Parmigianino, Nicolas Poussin, Giulio Romano, Andrea del Sarto, and Titian. The prints are executed mainly by Jean-Baptiste Corneille; the other engravers are Michel Corneille, Jean-Baptiste Massé, Girolamo Muziano, Jean Pesne, and Jacques Rousseau

Also present are prints after two suites of the Seven Sacraments: 5 prints after the first suite engraved by Louis de Châtillon and published by Nicolas de Poilly, and 7 prints after the second suite engraved by Jean Pesne and published by Etienne Gantrel.
