In episode 1, Liz and Matty, under the leadership of Colonel James Cadogan, undergo training in preparation for being sent to France. In episode 2, Liz questions whether to continue her training. Matty, who hadn't met the organization's standards, is now sought after as a UK-based wireless operator. Meanwhile, Cad has learned one of his agents has been betrayed. In episode 3, Liz, Matty and another agent finally land in occupied France and meet up with their contact, Kit Vanston. In episode 4, Matty's radio transmissions are picked up by the Germans. She is intercepted by German soldiers and taken to their headquarters for questioning. Meanwhile Liz visits her childhood friend Claudine
