Jazz trumpeter Eddi Grozner was born in Germany, but as a jew playing negro music, Nazi persection forced him to move to Poland and Russia, where he became famous in the late 1930s and 1940s. His life ended in obscurity in Berlin in 1976 after time spent in a Russian gulag. A Rozner revival in the 1990s resulted in this documentary, which shows historical footage and showcases his music, which had to be reconstructed from old 78 recordings.
