Can your monkey do the dog by Josh Smith ( Book )
5 editions published in 2007 in English and held by 58 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This book is the result of a collaboration between the artists Christopher Wool and Josh Smith. Their method is reminiscent of musical improvisation: to start, one of them proposes an image from his own body of work. From this basic picture, the other generates another image by reworking it through digital programs like Photoshop. Thus, new images made with "four hands" are created. The book is simply designed, with no texts, just black-and-white abstraction after abstraction. Here, the reproduction of the art image is just as important as the work of art. In other words, one can see pixels, blurred brushstrokes, the glare of a flashbulb reflecting off oil paint, or a smudged Xerox effect. It's all part of the work--rather than highlighting the process of painting, the artists are highlighting the process of reproduction itself--amazon.com viewed on 10.1.2013

DBT is a multi-modal treatment. Although skills training is a single mode, it is by far the most popular mode of DBT. Many programs begin implementing this mode in the beginning of learning how to develop their DBT program. Perfect for support staff, those working on the front lines and for direct care clinicians, this training will primarily focus on the concepts and the foundation of the DBT skills while at the same time helping those clinicians experienced in DBT expand their knowledge in them. Participants who attend this training can also expect to learn how to structure and format a skills training group, understand the roles and functions of facilitators, begin to teach the concepts of the DBT skills, identify and confront specific therapy-destroying behaviors found in group, lead meaningful mindfulness exercises, and assign specific homework assignments to help strengthen skill generalization. National speaker and consultant Josh Smith will provide numerous case examples, recordings of sessions, and mindfulness exercises to demonstrate the concepts behind the DBT skills. He prides himself on being able to demystify the most difficult concepts in DBT into a way that helps people to leave with a better understanding. Josh is also well known for having a down-to- earth presentation style while balancing it with irreverence and reciprocity

Josh Smith by Josh Smith ( Book )
3 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Tiré du site Internet de JRP/Ringier: "Josh Smith (*1978, lives in New York) has recently gained a wide acclaim for paintings that seem to turn Abstract Expressionism into cartoon-like forms of appropriation. He first became known for the works in which he used his name as a motif on the canvas, an ironic act of self-marketing. His later "abstractions" and "palettes" further demonstrated his ability to collage manual imput and mechanical reproduction, challenging the notions of creation. In this book, very simply designed by the artist, with no text, the reproduction of the art images is just as important as the works themselves. The visibility of pixels, the blurred brushstrokes, the glare of a flash reflecting on the surface of paint, or smudged Xerox effects are all part of the work. Rather than highligting the process of painting, the artist is highlighting the process of art reproduction, in a reversal not dissimilar to his approach of painting itself. "
