Summary: In a small circus, somewhere in France, a little girl can't get her beautiful white dove to settle on her outstretched arm. After several attempts, the bird flies off and that night the young owner dreams that she and her older brother use one of its feathers to trace it to an exotic place. The prince who lives there readily gives up the bird and in return the little girl presents him with the magic feather that had guided their aeroplane there. The following morning, when she awakes, she finds that the bird has returned, but decides to let it go and is content with the feather that drifts down to her. The film has been adapted from the book "The boy and the dove" by James Sage, with photographs by Robert Doisneau
