La vida loca by Christian Poveda( Visual )

8 editions published between 2009 and 2010 in Spanish and English and held by 96 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"El Salvador: a country still living in the shadow of a brutal civil war. Poverty. Corruption. Political Instability. In recent years, this struggling nation's problems have been compounded by a growing, increasingly brutal gang culture. In Central America, they are called "Maras", these groups of youngsters who have modelled themselves on Los Angeles youth gangs. They are extremely violent and are propagating terror in El Salvador and elsewhere. Over the course of a year, acclaimed photographer and documentarian Christian Poveda turned his camera on one neighbourhood "Clica" (chapter) of the 18, one of the largest and most infamous gangs in El Salvador. Tracing the daily lives - criminal exploits, murders, funerals, prison sentences, attempts at rehabilitation - of a handful of 18 members, La vida loca is part documentary, part war correspondent report, and part social commentary, a white-knuckle, fly-on-the-wall look at a world rarely seen by outsiders"--Container

5 editions published in 2010 in German and held by 16 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

(Quelle: Umschlagtext)

Striptease = Strip tease( Visual )

1 edition published in 2005 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

This documentary looks back at the origins of traditional art of striptease. Why is it that everywhere in the western world, young women are deciding to become strippers? How is it that in American and European cities, hundreds of women are forming striptease companies and reviving that old forgotten showbiz word burlesque? Inspired by the Moulin Rouge and Pigalle, the red-light district of Paris, the original striptease or burlesque was a product of the leadership of the Minsky brothers, Russian immigrants to Brooklyn in the '20s. With an unpretentious theatre, they created an inexpensive entertainment for the masses, long before the invention of television and before Hollywood's tyranny of popular leisure culture

..." Jean-Louis Comolli

BORBATA: KLEINES LAND - STARKE MÄNNER ; Regie: Christian Poveda. Musik: Theodosii Spassov, Ivo Papasov( Visual )

1 edition published in 1998 in Undetermined and held by 0 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
