On functional cupproducts and the transgression operator by
Emery Thomas(
Book
)
2 editions published in 1961 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Let g be a map from a topological space X to a topological space Y. Suppose that X and Y are the total spaces of respective proper triads and that g is a triad map. It is then possible, in certain cases, to express the functional cupproduct in terms of an ordinary cupproduct. This is applied to obtain a classical result about the Hopf invariant and to obtain some new information about the cohomology rings of certain classifying spaces. (Author)

A map of countable CWcomplex into a topological group is discussed regarding its homotopycommutative properties. Proofs are offered for six theorems with correlaries and lemmas. ad259 8779N6 AD259 878Div. 26, 17, 1 (21 July 61) Ministry of AviaAD259 878Div. 26, 17, 1 (21 July 61) Ministry of Aviation (Gt. Brit.). DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNIQUES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AIRCRAFT FASTENERS IN TITANIUM ALLOY. Nov 60, 7p. illus. tables (S+T memo. no. 32/60) Unclassified report DESCRIPTORS: *Titanium alloys, *Bolts, *Nuts (Mechanics), Screw threads, Manufacturing meth ods, Production, Processing, Forging, Air frames, Mechanical properties, Tensile prop erties, Shear stresses. The substitution of Ti alloy for steel bolts in aircraft is attractive since by this means it is possible to effect considerable savings in weight. The various difficulties involved in the manufacture of Ti alloy fasteners are discussed and the properties which can be achieved with optimum manufacturing conditions outlined. (Author)
