John Rogers (1507-1554/1555), martyr of the Anglican Reformation, was educated at Cambridge and (for a time) became a Roman Catholic, being later converted back to the Anglican church (for which "crime" he was burned at the stake). Thomas Rogers (1586/1576-1621) and his elder son, Thomas (b.1609), direct descendants of John the martyr, immi- grated in 1620 to Plymouth, Massachusetts. Other descendants of John immigrated to Virginia. Descendants lived in New England, Virginia and elsewhere. Includes much ancestry in England and Scotland to about 900 A.D
