"Soul Kitchen" is Zinos Kazantsakis's humdrum restaurant in a working-class neighborhood of Hamburg. The food is mostly frozen, unceremoniously zapped in the microwave, or thrown into a vat of bubbling grease. He loves his restaurant and his girlfriend Nadine, even after she leaves him for an assignment in China. Wanting to liven up the restaurant, Zinos hires an out-of-work three-star chef, lets his ex-con brother Ilias spin records, and seeks out new clientele. Soon Soul Kitchen is reborn as Hamburg's newest hot spot. On a whim, Zinos flies to China to rekindle his relationship with Nadine leaving his brother in charge. There is also a slipped disc, a hard-drinking, chain-smoking waitress, a scheming real-estate developer, a Turkish "physio-healer," and a high stakes poker game in the mix. But the film is not about food or love; it's about family, life and human relationships, with a lingering nostalgia for a time when eating out implied getting dead drunk, stuffing one's face with cholesterol and kissing across the table

In his second directorial outing, Schweighöfer appears in front of the camera as Paul, a professional "separator" who works for an agency in Berlin assisting couples in breaking up. That is, until he encounters the extremely clingy Toto who, in one fell swoop, turns Paul's career plans and life topsy-turvy

When Zinos discovers that Nadine has a new boyfriend, and his brother has gambled away his restaurant, he knows he must work with his brother if he is to get it back
Frau Ella ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2014 in German and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
"A young taxi driver finds out his on and off girlfriend is pregnant and gets in an accident. At the hospital he is put into the same room as an elderly lady due to flooding in the hospital. Somewhat annoyed having to share a room, she starts warming his heart and when telling him about her upcoming surgery - as a med dropout - he understands that this simple surgery could kill her if she signs the papers. Under medication she does sign the documents, so Sasha doesn't see any other option than to get her out of the clinic. With cops looking for them Sasha gets nervous and a bit annoyed with Ms. Ella again. She agrees to be taken home after they go to one place she'd like to show him." -- IMDb
