Mechanics and electrodynamics of magneto-and electro-elastic materials by R. W Ogden( )

8 editions published between 2011 and 2013 in English and held by 365 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume presents a state-of-the-art overview of the continuum theory of both electro- and magneto-sensitive elastomers and polymers, which includes mathematical and computational apsects of the modelling of these materials from the point of view of material properties and, in particular, the "smart-material" control of their mechanical properties
Advances in mechanics of solids in memory of Prof. E.M. Haseganu by Andrei L Smirnov( )

1 edition published in 2006 in English and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The contributions in this volume are written by well-known specialists in the fields of mechanics, materials modeling and analysis. They comprehensively address the core issues and present the latest developments in these and related areas. In particular, the book demonstrates the breadth of current research activity in continuum mechanics. A variety of theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches are reported, covering finite elasticity, vibration and stability, and mechanical modeling. The coverage reflects the extent and impact of the research pursued by Professor Haseganu and her international colleagues
Review of aircraft crash structural response research by Emmett A Witmer( Book )

2 editions published in 1982 in English and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Review of Aircraft Crash Structural Response Research( Book )

1 edition published in 1982 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A review of aircraft crash structural response research has been carried out by studying the literature, discussions with researchers working in that area, and visits to facilitates/personnel involved in conducting and/or monitoring aircraft crash structural response investigations. Aircraft structures consisting of conventional built-up metallic construction and those consisting of advanced composite materials were of interest. The latter type of material and construction is of particular interest since their use is expanding rapidly, and crashworthiness of such structures is of increasing importance. Some recent theoretical and experimental studies of the behavior of composite-material structures subjected to severe static, dyanmic, and/or impact conditions are noted. Such topics as crashworthiness testing of composite fuselage structures, the impact resistance of graphite and hybrid configurations, and the effects of elastomeric additives on the mechanical properties of epoxy resin and composite systems are reviewed. A reivew is made of some current and planned research to investigate experimentally the mechanical failure, postfailure, and energy-absorbing behavior of a sequence of composite-material structural elements and structural assemblages subjected to static loads or to simulated crash-impact loads
Advanced Reliability Modeling: Reliability Testing and Improvement: Proceedings of the 2nd International Workshop (AIWARM 2006), No. 2( )

1 edition published in 2006 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

The 2006 Asian International Workshop on Advanced Reliability Modeling (AIWARM) is the second symposium in a series of biennial workshops for the dissemination of state-of-art research and the presentation of practice in reliability and maintenance engineering in Asia. It brings together researchers and engineers from not only Asian countries but also all over world to discuss the state of research and practice in dealing with both reliability issues at the system design phase and maintenance issues at the system operation phase. The theme of AIWARM 2006 is "reliability testing and improvement". The contributions in this volume cover all the main topics in reliability and maintenance engineering, providing an in-depth presentation of theory and practice
