This Pennsylvania history collection includes miscellaneous letters to or from prominent local and state citizens including Andrew Gregg Curtin (two letters from 1857 and 1877), John Dickinson, Benjamin Latrobe, Noah Webster, Edward Shippen of Lancaster, and John Geary; a will; General Order No. 9 of Robert E. Lee surrendering the Army of Virginia; church cemetery records; a Pennsylvania German manuscript account book; and a U.S. Army sock pattern. There are also a number of printed circulars documenting Sylvester F. Wilson's attempt to create the American Ticket Brokers' Union in about 1881, as a move against the "monopolistic practices if the Pennsylvania Railroad."
