The jazz baroness ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2012 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Contemporary filmmaker Hannah Rothschild tries to uncover the real story about her great aunt, Baroness Pannonica Rothschild de Koenigswarter. This is the story of a British heiress who left her husband and children to move to New York and immerse herself in the jazz scene. Eventually, she met Monk and they became close friends. While her appalled family cut off most of her funds, she still began helping jazzmen - with medical bills, food, rent money, the cost of living. In the end, suggests Hannah, Nica found the life that fulfilled her. "The Jazz Baroness" is riddled with tragedies, explicit and implied
