Boxer Muggs (Leo Gorcey) is tired of training for the Golden Gloves tournament in a run-down gym. His manager Danny (Bobby Jordan) sends him to an upstate camp that turns out to be a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. Needing the money for his mother and using the work to keep in shape, Muggs decides to stay at the camp even though his attitude makes him few friends. When one of his friends takes money from the camp safe to help his mother, Muggs decides to fight in a tournament to replace the stolen money. In attempting to replace the money, Muggs is caught and accused of stealing and this jeopardizes his shot at the Golden Gloves
