Mrs. Hunter Fortune wants to marry Millionbucks, and her son, Algernon Hasno Fortune, wants to marry Millionbucks' daughter, Helen, after meeting them at a hotel. Helen prefers Freddy Bounce, the hotel owner's son. Millionbucks is entranced by Mrs. Hunter Fortune and prefers Algernon for Helen. Freddy gets Algernon away from Helen by dangling him out a window and later making him captive. Millionbucks peers through the keyhole and mistakes Freddy for Algernon. Freddy puts a mirror in front of the door and finally squirts Millionbucks with a toy gun. Millionbucks blames Algernon and Mrs. Fortune takes her son's side.
