UFOs [generals, pilots, and government officials go on the record] by Leslie Kean ( Recording )
3 editions published in 2010 in English and held by 35 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
An Air Force major is ordered to approach a UFO in his Phantom jet over Tehran, and his missile control becomes locked and disabled. In Belgium, an Air Force colonel investigates a series of widespread sightings of unidentified triangular objects. Here at home, a retired chief of the FAA's Accidents and Investigations Division reveals the agency's response to an encounter between an aircraft and a gigantic UFO over Alaska. Now all three of these men have written breathtaking, firsthand accounts about these extraordinary incidents, all witnessed by others and documented. They are joined by various high-level sources who have agreed to write their own stories for the first time. They are coming forward now because of Leslie Kean, an investigative reporter who has spent the last ten years studying the still unexplained UFO phenomenon
The Shriver report : a woman's nation changes everything ( Book )
3 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 30 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This report describes how a woman's nation changes everything about how we live and work today. Now for the first time in our nation's history, women are half of all U.S. workers and mothers are the primary breadwinners or co-breadwinners in nearly two-thirds of American families. This is a dramatic shift from just a generation ago (in 1967 women made up only one-third of all workers). It changes how women spend their days and has a ripple effect that reverberates throughout our nation. It fundamentally changes how we all work and live, not just women but also their families, their co-workers, their bosses, their faith institutions, and their communities. Quite simply, women as half of all workers changes everything

1 edition published in 2014 in English and held by 13 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"On May 1, 2014, the White House released its big data and privacy report, entitled 'Big Data: Seizing Opportunities, Preserving Values.' The report is the result of a three-month review, which was led by White House counselor John Podesta and was first announced as part of the President's January speech on NSA reform. It primarily outlines the Administration's approach to open data and privacy, public- and private-sector management of data, and a proposed policy framework for big data, along with other recommendations concerning privacy values, educational innovation, big-data discrimination, law enforcement, and public-resource data."- -Extracted from the National Law Review
Law.gov workshops ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2010 in English and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Law.gov pursues the idea that primary legal materials in the United States should be readily available to all, and that government institutions should make these materials available in bulk as distributed, authenticated, well-formatted data. To make this idea a reality, a series of workshops were held throughout the country, resulting in a consensus on 10 core principles. The core principles are included on the DVD jackets

Some results concerning the MHD boundary conditions at the base of the solar corona by John Podesta ( Book )
2 editions published in 2004 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Using the exact solutions of the linearized equations of ideal magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in the solar photosphere and chromosphere, the radiation condition for downward propagating waves in the photosphere/chromosphere, and the jump conditions of ideal MHD across the transition region, boundary conditions are derived at the base of the solar corona which can be applied to the study of various coronal phenomena. These boundary conditions explicitly take into account the losses of wave energy from the corona to the photosphere. The background magnetic field in the photosphere/chromosphere is assumed to be strong as in the case of sunspots and active regions. In this case, the equations for the Alfven waves in the photosphere/chromosphere de-couple from the equations for the fast and slow waves so the two classes of waves can be treated independently. Moreover, the solutions for each class of waves in the photosphere/chromosphere can be expressed in terms of known special functions. This enables the development of the boundary conditions. The boundary conditions for the Alfven waves are applied to the study of resonances in coronal loops and an additional boundary condition is derived to treat the excitation by forced oscillations of the footpoints. This latter boundary condition is different from the "tied-line" boundary condition often used for driving footpoint motions because it simultaneously allows for losses to the photosphere
