Arcadi Volodos plays Scriabin, Ravel, Schumann and Liszt : recital at the Vienna Musikverein( Visual )

1 edition published in 2009 and held by 10 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Russian pianist Arcado Volodos dedicates a recital to works by Scriabin, Ravel, Schumann and Liszt at the heart of the wonderful Musikverein in Vienna. A "keyboard genius", as he has been nicknamed, Arcadi Volodos is an incredible pianist renowned in particular for the high technicity of his art of playing and his subtle musical phrasing that make his performances highly poetic. Considered one of the best pianist of our times, Arcadi Volodos studied under Galina Eguizarova at Moscow Conservatory. He has already performed alongside renowned orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden and under the baton of great conductors, among which Valery Gergiev, James Levine, Zubin Mehta and others. Often compared to Vladimir Horowitz, Arcadi Volodos's art of playing is full of dexterity, power and gentleness. For this concert at the Vienna Musikverein in 2009, he performs with both finesse and virtuosity Scriabin's preludes, before performing Ravel's Valses nobles et sentimentales, a work which he perfectly translates subtle musical motives. With Schumann's Waldszenen, he leads the audience in a "musical walk" very lively, before the last work of the program which is Liszt's Fantasia quasi sonata
