Isaac Stearns (d.1671) and his family emigrated from England to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630. His nephews, Charles Stearns (fl.1630- 1661) and Nathaniel Stearns (fl.1630-1690), emigrated at the same time with their parents (who died shortly thereafter), and were raised in the home of their Uncle Isaac. Charles later settled at Plymouth, and Nathaniel at Dedham. Descendants and relatives of these three lived in Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon, California, Michigan, Minnesota, Maine, Louisiana, Iowa and elsewhere
