Obwohl der jüngere Sohn Michael sich wie üblich daneben benimmt und die Tochter Helene es gewagt hat, ihren farbigen Freund Gbatokai mit zu bringen, befinden Helge und seine Frau Elsa sich in ausgelassener Feierstimmung. Als der älteste Sohn Christian sein Vorrecht in Anspruch nimmt, als Erster eine Tischrede zu halten, ist die gute Laune jäh verflogen. Vor allen Anwesenden klagt Christian seinen Vater an, er habe ihn und seine Zwillingsschwester Pia als Kinder jahrelang sexuell missbraucht.
