The squid and the whale by Noah Baumbach( Visual )

In his third feature, director Noah Baumbach scores a triumph with anautobiographical coming-of-age story about a teenager whosewriter-parents are divorcing. The father (Jeff Daniels) and mother(Laura Linney) duke it out in half-civilized, half-savage fashion, while their two sons adapt in different ways, shifting allegiancesbetween parents
Frances Ha by Noah Baumbach( Visual )
8 editions published between 2013 and 2014 in English and held by 391 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Greta Gerwig is radiant as a woman in her late twenties in contemporary New York, trying to sort out her ambitions, her finances, and, above all, her tight but changing bond with her best friend, Sophie (Mickey Sumner). Meticulously directed by Noah Baumbach (Kicking and Screaming) with a free-and-easy vibe reminiscent of the French New Wave's most spirited films, and written by Baumbach and Gerwig with an effortless combination of sweetness and wit, Frances Ha gets at both the frustrations and the joys of being young and unsure of where to go next. This wry and sparkling city romance is a testament to the ongoing vitality of independent American cinema
13 most beautiful-- songs for Andy Warhol's screen tests by Andy Warhol( Visual )
6 editions published in 2009 in English and held by 208 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Between 1964 and 1966 at his Factory studio in New York City, Andy Warhol shot nearly 500 Screen Tests, beautiful and revealing portraits of hundreds of different individuals. Captured with his stationary 16mm Bolex camera on silent, black and white, 100-foot rolls of film. When projected at 16 frames per second each film is approximately four minutes long and mesmerizing in the purest sense of the word. Warhol used these films in many different contexts, as individual exhibits, as background for other exhibits and occasions, as portraits of his friends for his personal collection of mementos. The thirteen presented in this collection illustrate a recurrent theme in Warhol's work: his fascination with people
