This artificial collection consists of two kinds of documents. The first document types are those that were created by "famous" or significant Kentuckians during the course of their day-to-day lives. These documents include 1804 Register Office forms signed by John Adair, an 1806 land transfer document signed by Robert Breckinridge, and an 1801 land tax record signed by Marquis Calmes. Two letters from General John Adair to Gov. Isaac Shelby of Kentucky. The first, dated Louisville, November 15, 1814, describes the lack of supplies, unprepared troops, and travel to Natchez. The second, dated Mouth of Cumberland, December 6, 1814, explains that they are still in Kentucky, but will leave for Natchez when they receive sufficient rations. The letter also complains that they have poor boats and no tents, while the troops from Tennessee have excellent resources
