in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
A pen-and-wash drawing attributed to Joseph Crawhall (1793-1853), which depicts a hunter holding a shot gun and grouse, accompanied by a hunting dog and a beater, a person who drives game out of areas of cover for the hunter. The depiction illustrates an invitation to a meeting of the Park House Club on November 2, 1841. It is signed by Crawhall, president; William Walton, vice-president; and William Bainbridge, secretary pro tem. An inscription, "Kill Hope, Oct.10. 1841," with a sketch of a cross, likely refers to Killhope Cross, a sandstone marker of the county boundary between Durham and Cumbria, near Allenheads, England
