Richardson, for one dollar; a deed, dated 1854 May 8, conveying a parcel of Mission Dolores land to the same trustees from Thomas Varney and Joseph H. Moore; specifications for labor, materials, and mechanical work to be used in the erection of the church edifice; and a typescript, A Protestant Mission Dolores church in early San Francisco, written by Benton's niece Elisabeth S. Benton in 1944. Other papers include a deed from Lone Mountain Cemetery to Benton, dated 1858 April 17; a receipt for warrants, from R. B. Woodward to Benton, dated 1858 May 8; and a few of Benton's sermon notes, including notes on the wreck of the Central America, dated 1857 September 12
